CAROL McCLOUD

Author of "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids," Carol McCloud is known to thousands of fans as the "Bucket Lady." A graduate of Oakland University's School of Education and Human Services, Carol has been a preschool teacher, crisis counselor, youth mentor and early education director. As Adjunct Professor for the Florida Keys Community College in the 1990's, Carol taught numerous early childhood development courses.
Since June of 2006, Carol has read and discussed her book in 500 presentations to encourage and empower 50,000 children to be daily bucketfillers. She has also inspired thousands of teachers to create bucketfilling classrooms and schools. Carol's motto is:
Life is good and it's better as a bucket filler.
Carol travels across the U.S. to present at schools, conferences, and businesses. She lives in Brighton, Michigan.

DONNA DEWITT-SCHNELL, M.A.

Donna DeWitt-Schnell believes that teaching children is the noblest profession. She received her Bachelors in Education as an English Major and Masters in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University.
As a thirty-year public education teacher, she has taught most grades from preschool through prison camp with most of her career in the Lake Orion, Michigan School District.
In 2006, Donna was named the Michigan Association of Middle School Educators Region 7 Teacher of the Year. She lives in Lapeer, Michigan and Englewood, Florida.

KATHERINE MARTIN, M.A.

Katherine Martin earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Counseling from Oakland University.
Kathy is a behavioral counselor. Her twenty-year career with children includes work as a Faith-based Counselor, Summer Camp Director, Teen Center Director, Playroom Coordinator, and Grief Facilitator. Kathy is the proud mother of two grown children and Nona to Jacob. She lives in Milford, Michigan.

PEGGY JOHNCOX, M.A.

Born the eldest of eight children, Peggy Johncox has always loved and enjoyed children of all ages. She received her B.A. in Education from the University of Michigan and M.A. in Reading from Eastern Michigan University.
In thirty years of teaching, Peggy has taught Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and Title I in classrooms in Southgate, Michigan, on Indian Reservations in Arizona and New Mexico, and in Fowlerville and Howell, Michigan. In 2001, Peggy was chosen as Teacher of the Year for Fowlerville Michigan schools.
Peggy is a proud mother and grandmother and lives in Cohoctah, Michigan with her husband, Gary.

KATHLEEN DUNHAM, M.A.

Kathleen Dunham is an early childhood specialist currently teaching in the Education and Early Childhood Departments at the University of Michigan. She has taught for thirty years in elementary and early childhood settings.
Kathleen earned her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Michigan and is currently a doctoral candidate for her EdD. She lives in Highland, Michigan.

BROOKE JOHNCOX

Brooke Johncox has always had a tremendous love for children, reading and encouraging. Her background is primarily in music, childcare, theater, English and literature. She has been a preschool and elementary school teacher, missionary and camp counselor.
Brooke currently serves as a substitute teacher and Youth Advisor for a Christian church in Howell, Michigan. Brooke and her husband, Drew, have a 3-year-old son, Elijah, and an infant, River Jubilee. Brooke's belief that everyone can be a great bucketfiller is contagious as she works to "fill up" the world, one bucket at a time.
KAREN WELLS, M.A.

Karen Wells earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Treatment, from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California, and has been a mental health clinician for the past eight years.
Karen has taught parenting education to foster parents, incarcerated females and court-ordered families dealing with custodial and behavioral issues. She currently teaches in the Child Development Program at Modesto Junior College and lives in San Ramon, California.
Karen is the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, 5 and 3, who have been taught the concept of "bucketfilling" and love to read the book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today?

JAN MERZ

Jan Merz has loved working with children her whole life, as a camp counselor and assistant camp director, church youth choir director and public school teacher. Jan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Alma College and did her graduate work at Oakland University.
For the past 33 years, Jan has been a junior high and middle school drama teacher and choral director in the Clarkston and Lake Orion Schools. Her choirs have had a long standing reputation for excellence at both the district and state levels.
Jan lives in Clarkston, Michigan with her bucketfilling family -- husband John and children, Todd and Kelsey.
